Timing truly is everything. We live by the clock. Get up at a certain time, go workout, hurry off to work, work all day, just to get off work at a certain time, get dinner done, do house chores, animal chores, balance your check book, and if you have kids... I'm not sure their is enough time in your day for everything.
Timing is also a big deal when trying to conceive. When we met with Dr Brown at Mid-Iowa fertility he mentioned how truly small that window is each month. He even joked about how we all know that "one girl" who claims she only had sex once and got pregnant...... he pretty much called her a liar.
God has a huge part in the timing of events in our lives. It is no doubt that if God did not want John and I to be pregnant yet, we wouldn't be. It was in His timing.
Today was my last day of work at the job I have been at for the past 2 years. While I have enjoyed my days with my co-workers and many of the families I have gotten to know, I am beyond glad God has closed this chapter and allowed me to walk away and enjoy the remainder of my pregnancy. Now, when I first found out they were eliminating my position, I had a wide range of emotions... and a lot came down to being selfish... finances, the timing of everything, friends and co-workers, etc. But then we had our specialist appointment two days later, I soon realized God was closing this chapter in my life at just the right time. As some of you might now about me, I like to overbook myself... socially and in my work life. It was like God knew that if he didn't end my "day job" that I would work up to the point of going in-patient and I would be stressed out over the nursery, the dogs, the house, everything. The speaker at Eternity Church on Sunday had an excellent quote, "We are too quick to give the devil credit for things God is doing." Wow! Often times we look at doors being closed as a bad thing, but what if it is all in God's timing and that is what He wants from us?
Am I sad to be leaving my co-workers, yes. But I know we are close by and can carve out some time for dinner or a quick drink.
